The list of people who can certify copies of documents include:
Occupations
- Pharmacist
- Legal practitioner
- Medical practitioner
- Nurse
- Optometrist
- Dentist
- Veterinary surgeon
Other people
- Permanent employee or Agent of the Australian Postal Corporation (with 5 or more years of continuous service who is employed in an office supplying postal services to the public)
- Police officer
- Bank officer (with 5 or more continuous years of service)
- Building society officer (with 5 or more years of continuous service)
- Credit union officer (with 5 or more years of continuous service)
- Finance company officer (with 5 or more years of continuous service)
- Justice of the Peace
- Commissioner for Affidavits
- Commissioner for Declarations
- Notary public
- Australian Consular Officer or Australian Diplomatic Officer
- Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants or the National Institute of Accountants
- Fellow of the National Tax Accountants’ Association
- Member of the Association of Taxation and Management Accountants
- Member of Chartered Secretaries Australia
- Judge of a court
- Magistrate
- Master of a court
- Clerk of a court
- Registrar, or Deputy Registrar, of a court
The Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Rules Amendment Instrument 2009 (No.4) Schedule 1 Chapter 1 permits the above persons under the Statutory Declarations Regulations 1993 Schedule 2 Part 1 & 2 to certify documents.
